GhazzyTV's Poison SRS Arakaali Build Guide (PoE Legacy of Phrecia Event)

Introduction

With the Legacy of Phrecia event, we can league-start poison minions more easily than ever! At level 15 we get Envy , a pretty flat damage aura.
The best candidate for applying poisons rapidly and making use of high flat damage is as always Summon Raging Spirit Summon Raging Spirit.
As a bonus we get the spiders from Arakaali's Fang Arakaali's Fang in our ascendancy and can play with them as early as in the campaign, instead of needing to acquire the dagger, when we reach maps.

This should make for a very comfortable league start, despite a slightly rocky start from having to start in the Shadow area of the tree.

Below you will find my YouTube video going over the build.

Build Overview

In this section I will outline the pros, cons, & general play style. This will allow you to determine if the build is for you or not!

Pros

+ League Starter – The swap to minions is effortlessly in act 4 after we do the Labyrinth, From there on everything should be a breeze.

+ Bosser – The build handles initial end-game pinnacle bosses with ease.

+ Simple Play Style – Summoning Raging Spirits is not complicated, and the spiders from the new Ascendancy summon themselves. This makes for a very relaxed and not too button-intensive gameplay style.

Cons

Play Style Swap – Due to starting in Shadow, we have to reach the minion nodes and finish the first labyrinth before we can enable minions. This isn’t ideal, but it cannot be helped.

Damage Halts – In super low budget, you might encounter bosses with heavy AoE damage, and this could cause problems with minion survivability. As long as you follow the guide it should be more than fine.

Playstyle

The playstyle of this build is very simple. We summon Summon Raging Spirit Summon Raging Spirit‘s, and these will auto-target the enemies. They will apply poison and the enemies dying from poison will summon our spiders. As we’re using a trigger-wand to automate the offering, we only summon minions, shield charge and curse.

Damage Scaling And Defensive Layers

Damage scaling for this build is relatively straight forward. We poison enemies with our minions, we make great use of level 15 Envy to get a head start on our flat chaos damage values and we scale some modifiers to levels, minion damage and minion attack speed.

Defensively we’re making use of the normal things. A bit of armour, some block, some increased maximum resistances. We solve ailments through Purity of Elements Purity of Elements and it should be pretty straight forward. We’re not a tank by any means, but we should be okay.

Leveling

The PoB covers most of this in detail, below you’ll find a TLDR of how to get started early on.

Before You Enable Minions

As we are starting in shadow, minions aren’t an option for us early on. We’re going to have to find our way to the first labyrinth and most likely the library, before minions are a realistic option. Remember to mule gems from the witch! This is super important!
All of this is in the PoB, but I’ll be writing it out for newer players less familiar with the program. If you run into any issues, or you get confused, come talk to us in the discord.

At the start of the event, we will be making a witch to mule the following gems:
  1. Summon Raging Spirit Summon Raging Spirit We get access to this after finishing mudflats on the witch. You have to get this one, we need it leveled for later.
  2. Minion Damage Support Minion Damage Support We get access to this after killing Brutus at the end of the prison, this can be skipped and picked up later.

Make sure to place the srs gem and minion damage (if you mulled both) in your stash so your shadow can pick them up. Also, include any currency items or scrolls you grabbed on the witch.

Upon reaching town with the Shadow, you will take the gem Cobra Lash Cobra Lash from the quest reward.
You should already have Chance to Poison Support Chance to Poison Support from the beach.
Should you get a 3G item, you also add Momentum Support Momentum Support. If you don’t it’s not too bad.
Any gem that adds flat damage like Added Lightning Damage Support Added Lightning Damage Supportg is a good option if your third socket is blue.

As soon as it is offered to us we want to grab Whirling Blades Whirling Blades to move around, preferably linked to Faster Attacks Support Faster Attacks Support
  1. Frostblink Frostblink is only used to cross ledges and things WB cannot traverse, leave it at level 1
Upon reaching the Merveil’s cavern, we’re swapping a few things around. This is as we enter it and grab the Waypoint, not after we kill her! First of all Cobra Lash Cobra Lash is swapped out, and we start using Venom Gyre Venom Gyre instead. That gives us the following links
  1. Venom Gyre Venom Gyre
  2. Chance to Poison Support Chance to Poison Support
  3. Volley Support Volley Support
We also pick up a dedicated single target skill here, Blade Trap Blade Trap which gives us the following:
  1. Blade Trap Blade Trap
  2. Swift Assembly Support Swift Assembly Support
  3. Chance to Poison Support Chance to Poison Support

You should have two three links at this point, but if you only have one you can drop Chance to Poison Support Chance to Poison Support on Blade Trap for a bit.

In Act 2 we get access to a damage aura we will be using temporarily along with a buff skill

  1. Herald of Agony Herald of Agony
  2. Summon Skitterbots Summon Skitterbots
  3. Blood Rage Blood Rage

In Act 3 we get access to our auras that we will be keeping.
Drop Herald of Agony Herald of Agony if reservation gets too tight and pick up Purity of Elements Purity of Elements. Purity is important, agony is just minor damage.

As soon as you have finished all of the trials and can do the Labyrinth, I would advise you to attempt to do so in order to swap over to minions.
As soon as the labyrinth is finished, go see Faustus and make use of his gold-respecs to dump the start of the passive tree and invest those points into minion things.

From here I would suggest you simply follow the PoB.
